Art Studios available for Rent
VISUAL ARTISTS ONLY ~ WORK SPACE ONLY (NOT LIVE-IN)
400 sq/ft studio ~ $460 [1426 S. Jackson]
We have a medium sized studio opening up soon - 20 x 20 ft, cement floor, 9' open beam ceiling, with a good vent fan. It has a small west-facing glass block window, so not very much natural light. But there are lots of fluorescent light fixtures and a 4-plex outlet on the ceiling - so plenty of options for lighting. Price includes everything except wifi, (+$5). The current artist is moving out by March 31st, or possibly sooner.
small darkroom or screen printing wash area ~ $190 [1426 S. Jackson]
This room was originally set up as a darkroom, but it can also be used for screen printing or other projects where a large shallow sink is needed. The room includes a darkroom sink, built-in shelving and drying screens, and ventilation fan. Price includes everything except wifi, (+$5). The current artists are moving and need to break their lease. They can can be out at the end of the month, or as soon as we find the right person.

b&w darkroom ~ $100
Visit our membership darkroom page for details.
small woodshop share ~ $175 [1426 S. Jackson]
Seeking 1 more artist to share a small project woodshop. There will be 3 artists total, and a sign-up sheet so you'll have the shop all to yourself. Basic tools are provided, including brand new Jet contractor's table saw with a good & accurate fence, drill press, various sanders and other small electrical tools. There's also a small spray booth across the hall, and space to store your own tools and materials. The shop is being run by an experienced woodworker, with information about how to make this small shop work for you, (ie: he knows affordable ways to get access to larger equipment for cutting and milling). Available now.
519 Art Studios: we have another art building that sometimes has additional studios for rent - here's a link for 519 Art Studios.

details for renting space in either of our buildings:
All utilities and NNN* are included in the rent. 1 year lease required with first/last/$200 key deposit. Kitchenette, bathroom & phone on each floor. 24-hour access, (work space only, not live/work). These are both active visual art buildings, and we usually have one or two open house events per year which are very well attended - so there can be some good opportunities for your work to be seen by the public.
519 S. Main is located in downtown Seattle with city parking, and perfectly located for many forms of public transportation, (trains, buses, ferries, etc). 1426 S. Jackson has free & easy neighborhood parking, and is on bus routes 7, 9 and 14 and others.
VISUAL ARTISTS ONLY ~ WORK SPACE ONLY (NOT LIVE-IN)
* NNN (triple net) is a term used in commerical leases, refering to additional fees that are often charged separately on top of the rent. These fees include a share of property taxes, building insurance, and water/sewer. You always want to ask about NNN fees when renting a studio, because they can be a lot more than you may expect, and they can be increased with no warning. NNN fees are included in the rent for our building, so there are no surprises.
